Why Don’t You Carry?
Why Don’t You Carry?

When an unexpected crisis strikes and you’re unprepared, the consequences can be catastrophic. Whether your lack of readiness stems from ignorance, laziness, naivety, or complacency, the outcome remains the same devastation.
Take, for example, a tragic incident that occurred last Saturday. A couple, aged 43 and 41, went hiking in a remote state park with their 7- and 9-year-old daughters. The trail had no cell phone service. A predator, targeting the children, stabbed the father to death. The mother sent her daughters toward the ranger station for help before returning to aid her husband. Tragically, she was also stabbed to death. Neither parent was armed. The girls reached the ranger station, prompting a response, but it was too late to save their parents.
A suspect, unknown to the family, was arrested. This was a random crime of opportunity in an isolated area. The couple’s children, along with another sibling who wasn’t present, are now orphans—solely because their parents fell into one of the four categories: ignorant, lazy, naïve, or complacent.
Compare this to another incident that same week. At a Wal-Mart, a deranged individual stabbed 11 people. A concealed carry permit holder drew his firearm, ordered the attacker to drop the knife (which he did), and held him at gunpoint until police arrived, stopping the attack.
Imagine how differently the tragedy in the park might have unfolded if the parents had been armed and prepared. At Lone Pine Tactical, we believe readiness is a choice. Don’t let ignorance, laziness, naivety, or complacency define your story. Carry, train, and be prepared.
